Making Masks for the Family

Harris County mandated that we wear a mask in public, to prevent spread of Covid-19.  My Daughter-in-Law was told to start wearing one at work.  So, after looking at Youtube videos, this is what I came up with. Two pieces of 100% cotton with one piece being backed by iron on Pellon 911FF interfacing. The ties go around the ears.  They are made from cutting 1/2" strips across an old t-shirt. If you pull at each end, it will roll.  We found this to be softer and more comfortable than elastic. I used a bodkin to pull thru sides of masks and tied in an overhand knot.  Each person then made another overhand knot where it was comfortable for them.

My Son loves Halloween.  The top 2 are for him. Mine is bottom left. Bottom right for Daughter-in law.

Scrappy Quilt Top from Block Exchange

Finally, put together my quilt top, from The Monday Night Divas Bee block exchange, in 2017.
We exchanged blocks for 9 months and ended up with about 120 blocks each. I love a good scrappy quilt.  I will link to the Youtube video that gave us this idea.

Second 3 rows complete.

All of the design boards had shop samples on them, so I had to get creative for my picture
