Monopoly Quilt Top Finished
The Monopoly Quilt top is finished. I planned on sewing the two borders on at our Saturday sew-in, but I ran into a problem with the large blue border. The second one that I sewed on was about an inch too short. I thought all four borders were the same length, but evidently not. I had to get the old seam ripper out. This was a UFO , a bag of squares, blue borders and five yards of fabric for the backing. I am so glad that I finished it. It is simple, but still makes me smile. Now I just need to seam up the backing and get it quilted.

Dr. Seuss Quilt
Yesterday, the Houston Texans lost and will not be playing in the Superbowl next month here in Houston. I miss J. J. Watts and this makes me very sad. So, my next choice would be the Steelers and they just won and still have a chance for the Superbowl. While watching the Steeler game, I am binding my Dr. Seuss quilt.
I purchased this kit several years ago at a Quilt Show. It is a flip and sew and was a lot of fun to put together.

Dr. Seuss flip and sew quilt.
Love this fabric for binding. It is cut on the straight of grain but looks like it is cut on the bias.

Quilting in the New Year.
We woke up to 20 degrees weather yesterday (Saturday) morning in South Texas. So, I pulled out my coat, scarf, and gloves that only get used about 4 or 5 times a year. Seriously, we are expecting 78 degrees by Wednesday.
The Bee that I belong to has a Sew-In on the first Saturday of each month. We have 11 members and 8 were able to attend. That is good for us. One was sick and one was working and I did not hear from the third absentee.
I chose to put borders on a Monopoly Quilt that I started last year from a UFO package of cut up squares. It is shaping up into a real cute quilt.

I thought my hair looked better than that when I left the house. I think that my coat hood did a number on it.
I added the small black border and the wider blue border at the sew-in.

Merry Christmas
These are some of my most favorite Christmas decorations. They were a gift, from my Husband, years ago. The Three Kings are beautifully done and have a Nativity scene across the front of the three.
Their robes are done in wonderful quilt patterns.
I wish for you a Very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year.
May your holidays be filled with Love,Family,Friends and lots of good food.

Ten Minute Table Runner
JoAnn Fabrics sold Nightmare Before Christmas Fabric this year. A nice variety and discounted to boot. I fell in love with The Nightmare Before Christmas Movie years ago. We made a trip to Disney World that December and Jack Skellington was all the rage. I wanted to use the fabric right away, so I made a couple of 10 Minute Table Runners.
Love this combo.
Perfect fabric to complement NBFC fabric.
The 10 Minute Table Runner is 1/3 yard x WOF for front center and 1/2 yard x WOF for back and border. Here is a video that shows how easy it it to make. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZUe37VXABI

Halloween Photo Booth
My Son was asked to come up with and bring to life a Halloween Carnival for children. He and I came up with 8-10 game ideas. They needed to be mentally and physically therapeutic. I will not bore you with all the detail, but my favorite was the Photo Booth.
David was on line and found a flag that he liked, but it was no longer available. So, we decided to make it out of wood and paint.

4' x 8'
We got creative in our front yard with the skeleton crew. At the carnival, the skeletons were sitting in lawn chairs and the children loved them.
You are probably thinking, what does this have to do with quilting. The math was tricky, but my long quilting ruler (with multiple markings) and blue tape were the perfect solution for marking all those lines. Bless the person that invented blue tape. It marked my ruler and after David painted the board orange, it taped off the lines to paint the black stripes.
I, also, used my ruler and blue tape to mark a 4' x 4' Plinko board. David had the fun of hammering all those nails in. This is before the top was painted different colors and the bottom tray was added.
This is a picture of one of our neighbor's yard. Look closer in the pumpkin area. There is a skeleton coming out of the lawn and two skeletons climbing the fence. Too cute!
